Newtown House #2

NEWTOWN HOUSE #2

Embracing colour and boldness was the motivating idea behind this large-scale renovation of a 115-year old house in Wellington.

CMID worked with the clients to embrace these two design goals in breathing new life into this wonderful character home. Project architect Judi Keith-Brown developed the back of the house and added an upstairs master suite, while CMID worked on the interiors.

The palette and materials used throughout the house are as eye-catching as they are uplifting. A central tenet of CMID projects is that the client’s personality, interests, and ideals are expressed in the overall design. This was truly achieved, and the refreshed and modified house embodies its owners.

CMID’s work included selecting fixtures and finishes, as well as designing the joinery in the functional and inviting study. Our studio’s handiwork was also applied to the entrance and hallway, bathrooms, bedrooms, laundry, and living and dining rooms.
